Smile makeovers in Sedgley & Dudley

Smile Makeover For a Smile You’ll Love

If there’s more than one thing you’d like to change about your smile, a smile makeover brings the right treatments together into one carefully planned journey. At Highview Dental Practice in Sedgley, Dudley, we listen to what matters to you, then combine options such as whitening, bonding, veneers and straightening to create a natural-looking result that suits your face.

Why consider a smile makeover?

Your smile plays a big part in how you feel about yourself and the impression you make on others. Rather than tackling one tooth at a time, a smile makeover looks at your whole smile - colour, shape, alignment and gaps - so every treatment works together. Planning in advance also means you know exactly what to expect, step by step.

  • Planned around your goals
  • Natural, balanced results
  • Clear step-by-step plan

What happens during a smile makeover?

  1. 01

    Smile consultation

We start by listening. Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, asks what you’d like to change and discusses the options that could help you achieve it.

  2. 02

    Records & smile design

We may take photographs, study models or digital scans, and can create a digital set up and mock up (SmileFast) so you can preview your potential new smile.

  3. 03

    Your personalised plan

You’ll receive a clear, itemised treatment plan explaining the order of treatment, the number of visits and the costs, so you can decide with confidence.

  4. 04

    Treatment in stages

Any health issues such as decay or gum disease are treated first. Cosmetic treatments then usually follow in a logical order - for example straightening, then whitening, then bonding or veneers.

  5. 05

    Review & maintenance

Once treatment is complete, we’ll review your new smile with you and help you keep it looking its best with regular check-ups and hygiene appointments.

What can a smile makeover include?

Every smile makeover is different. Depending on your teeth and what you’d like to achieve, your plan may include one or more of the following:

  • Teeth whitening to brighten your natural teeth
  • Composite bonding to repair chips and close small gaps
  • Porcelain or composite veneers to improve colour and shape
  • Clear aligners or fixed braces to straighten crooked teeth
  • Crowns to restore broken-down or heavily filled teeth
  • Implants, bridges or dentures to replace missing teeth
  • Hygiene appointments and stain removal for a healthy foundation

Could a smile makeover help you?

A few questions to ask yourself

You might benefit from a smile makeover if you answer “yes” to any of these questions:

  • Do you ever cover your mouth when you smile or laugh?
  • Do you photograph better from one side of your face?
  • Do you wish your teeth were whiter?
  • When you look in the mirror, do you notice chips, gaps or uneven teeth?
  • Do your teeth look too long, too short, too wide or too narrow?
  • Do you show too much or too little gum when you smile?

Not sure where to start?

You don’t need to know which treatments you want before you come in. Simply tell us what you’d like to change, and your dentist will explain the options honestly - including simpler, more conservative choices where they can give you a great result.

Our associate dentist Dr Edmund Acheampong has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, while our principal dentist Dr Mani Reehal has a particular interest in orthodontics.

If you feel nervous about dental treatment, please let us know. We’ll take things at your pace, and Dr Reehal especially enjoys helping nervous patients feel at ease.

FAQs

Smile Makeover FAQs

How much does a smile makeover cost?

Because every smile makeover is tailored to you, the cost depends on the treatments you choose and how many teeth are involved. After your consultation you’ll receive a personalised, itemised estimate, and our fee table shows prices for the treatments most often included.

How long does a smile makeover take?

It varies. A simple makeover using whitening and bonding may take just a few weeks, while plans that include straightening or implants can take many months. Your dentist will give you a realistic timeline as part of your plan.

Can I see what my new smile will look like first?

In many cases, yes. A digital set up and mock up (SmileFast), or a trial mock up placed over your teeth, can help you preview the proposed changes and give your feedback before treatment begins.

Is a smile makeover available on the NHS?

Treatments carried out purely for cosmetic reasons aren’t usually available on the NHS, so smile makeovers are generally private. Parts of your plan that are clinically needed, such as fillings, may be available on the NHS - please call to check NHS availability.

Will my smile still look like me?

That’s our aim. We plan the colour, shape and proportions of your teeth to suit your face, so your smile looks like a healthier, brighter version of you rather than looking ‘done’.
